One of the most important attractions in Mey is The Castle and Gardens of Mey, located right near The Hawthorns. Mey bus stop, offering a direct link to the city attractions and main places, is approximately 400 metres from the hotel.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with thoughtful amenities such as a coffee machine and fridge. the pet-friendly policy and provision of a bed for our furry companion were greatly appreciated. One standout feature was the cozy sitting area with a roaring fire, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Caithness. the hosts, Graham and Eileen, were warm and welcoming, providing us with great recommendations for local eateries and attractions. The breakfast served was delicious, catering to all tastes and dietary requirements. the free toiletries were a nice added touch, and the free Wi-Fi allowed us to stay connected. Overall, the Hawthorns offers excellent value for money, combining luxury with a homely feel. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling along the NC500 or looking for a peaceful retreat in Caithness. Can't wait to return for a longer stay next time.
